Al Nassr closes a £4 million deal
WHAT HAPPENED? The United left back, who has been surplus to requirements for some time, will join the long list of European players who have transferred to the Middle East this summer by joining the Saudi Pro League team for a bargain £4 million ($5.2 million).
The bigger picture is that Telles was signed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the summer of 2020 for £15 million ($20 million), and he immediately became the club’s starting left defender before his performance began to decrease during the 2022–23 season when he was on loan at Sevilla. United acquired Tyrell Malacia a year ago, and afterward leased him away.
Telles, a former Manchester United forward who will reunite with Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia, has reportedly completed his transfer to Al-Nassr and is set to earn £7 million ($9.1 million) annually.
WHERE DOES TELLES GO FROM HERE? The deal will be announced and Telles will be introduced as an Al Nassr player in the following days. On August 11, the beginning of the new Saudi season will begin.
